Saturday 11 March 2023 9.30am – 4.00pm
Bollington Arts Centre
Singers of all ages 17+ are invited to join us for an informal and purposeful day’s singing.
For many years, with 2021 being an exception, Bollington Festival Choir has hosted a Singing Day open to the public. In recent years, the work studied has been the main one in the summer concert.
Join the Choir to explore the delights of Gounod’s St Cecilia Mass, a heartfelt, tuneful work. Conductor Donald Judge and accompanist Rosalind Hall will guide everyone through the work.
Singing Days are always a relaxed affair, with tea, coffee and biscuits provided. Singers are welcome to bring their own refreshments, including a packed lunch, while there are shops and cafes nearby. Family and friends can attend an informal performance to end the day, which finishes at 4pm.
Singers may just wish to come for the day, but starting on 28 March, there are Tuesday evening rehearsals before the work features in a concert at St Oswald’s Church on Sunday 18 June.
The fee of £15 (£5 for 18s and under) includes music loan and tea/coffee and biscuits. Booking is essential via 01625 511881.
